Popular Line of Mineral Fiber Panels Now Provides
65% Greater Improvement for Scratch and Indent Resistance

New advancements in Armstrong's popular line of Cirrus commercial ceiling panels have resulted in a significant leap in sustainable durability.

The best-selling family of fine-textured mineral fiber ceilings now provides 65% greater scratch and indent resistance, making the panels easier to handle during installation and routine maintenance.

According to Stephen R. Smith, Armstrong's Product Line Manager for Commercial Ceilings, the development effort that produced the new developments began nearly a year ago.  "Cirrus is one of our most specified product families.  We wanted to add value by improving its ability to withstand normal handling and plenum access," he says.  "Now, our customers get a ceiling that stays new-looking longer and performs significantly better than competitive equals."

The Cirrus family of fine-textured ceilings offers the widest range of design and edge detail options in the industry, with over 200 items ranging from borders to theme panels.

Armstrong World Industries, Inc. is a global leader in the design, innovation and manufacture of interior finishes, most notably ceilings and floors.  Its commercial products include acoustical ceilings, ceiling suspension systems, and linoleum, wood  and vinyl floor coverings.  Through its Architectural Specialties Group, Armstrong also provides collaborative custom ceiling capabilities, including wood, metal and fully integrated ceiling solutions for areas such as corridors and ceiling perimeters.  In 1999, company sales totaled more than $3.4 billion.
