ARMSTRONG CEILINGS EXPANDS INFUSIONS LINE OF ACCENT CANOPIES
Palette of New Visuals Ranges from Natural Materials and
CHICAGO, June 14 - Armstrong Ceilings has enhanced its award-winning line of Infusions accent canopies with the addition of new patterns reflecting current interior design trends. The palette of new visuals ranges from natural materials and coordinated colors to light-catching layered canopies.
A "Best of NeoCon" Gold Winner in 2003, Infusions accent canopies create a unique, "spaces within spaces" look through the use of floating ceiling canopies. The line expands design opportunities for architects and designers by providing them with the opportunity to use different shapes, colors, textures, sizes and even different ceiling heights to add visual impact to spaces. And, even though the look is custom, the system uses only standard components at an affordable cost.
From an environmental standpoint, many of the canopies in the Infusions line contain 40% recycled content, thus providing credit toward LEED projects. Many of the canopies are also recyclable.
New Additions Allow Light to Penetrate
Three of the new introductions feature open areas that allow light to pass through and add drama to a space. Each of these new canopies is designed to interact with light in a different way. One utilizes perforations, while the other two feature a layered, sculpted construction in which the translucency of each layer increases from top to bottom.
According to Ann Miller, Director of Design for Armstrong Ceilings, "These new options offer very interesting and different methods of allowing light to pass through the canopy. They also coordinate well with the solids that are already in the Infusions line, thereby providing an opportunity to mix materials. And, because of the layered look, dimension comes into play as well."
New Colors, Natural Looks Added
A trio of cellular polycarbonates has also been added to the line. According to Miller, these new patterns feature a subtle texturing that treats light in an unusual way. "The new soft green, soft blue and translucent white are all colors that key into many other commercial finishes," she adds. "They also coordinate well with the existing Infusions solids, providing yet another opportunity to mix and match materials."
Three other Infusions introductions are designed to meet the growing demand for the imagery of wood and other natural materials. One of the new patterns features a fossilized leaf visual, while the others impart the look of wood in two new colors.
Canopies Add Color and Definition
Infusions introduces color and definition to a space quickly and easily. As a result, the canopies can be used to define spaces, accentuate an area, provide a focus, or create ceiling sculptures in a wide variety of applications ranging from high profile corporate interiors to upscale retail and hospitality environments.
Available in 2’x 5’ and 2’x 6’ sizes with a 60 or 90 arc, Infusions can be used individually or in groupings to create an array of different configurations, including hills and valleys. To create even more interest, the ceilings can be used at varying heights.
Infusions is easy to install, requiring no special tools or installation techniques. The canopies are simply suspended from the building structure or wall with a cable system or wall attachment. And, unlike most custom ceiling options, which often have long lead times, Infusions is available with lead times of only three to five weeks.
