Metal ceiling panels are inherently incombustible, however the paint surface and acoustical fleece backing can contribute to fire if not properly formulated.
RH 200 system panels have been tested according to ASTM E 84 and are certified Class A by Factory Mutual:
Acoustical correction is provided by the factory application of a black acoustical fleece. Additional correction can be provided by the addition of a fiberglass pad behind the fleece.
Note that the curved panel configuration may affect acoustical contribution. An acoustical consultant should be involved when acoustical contribution of panels is critical.
Light reflectance of RH 200 metal panels is dependent on the selection of color and perforation. The results below were obtained using a photo-spectrometer with a D65 10 degree setting: perforated panels were backed with black acoustical fleece.
RH 200 Curved Plank Systems are not normally considered for use as air supply or return elements. Pressure drop and flow rate data is available from Armstrong on a variety of perforation types. Call 877- ARMSTRONG for details.
The RH 200 Curved Plank System is designed essentially as an interior system. Under certain circumstances, however, the system can be installed in exterior soffit situations. Modifications to meet exterior requirements will typically include:
