NEW METALWORKS™ LINEAR CEILINGS FROM ARMSTRONG

New systems offer flexibility with four standard widths,
an acoustical option, and interior or exterior applications

CHICAGO, June 13, 2005 -- The long, sleek look of narrow metal ceiling planks is now available to architects and designers wishing to expand their design flexibility.

New MetalWorks Linear ceiling systems from Armstrong add a sleek design element while offering acoustical performance options. As a result, the new metal ceiling systems are ideal for use in applications such as airports, schools, corridors, lobbies and retail spaces.

New MetalWorks Linear ceilings are available in two visually distinct systems - Contrasts and Connections.

The MetalWorks Contrasts System features non-perforated, painted aluminum panels in standard 3" and 5" widths, with a 1" wide black interlocking filler strip that separates the panels and provides the ceiling with its eye-catching light-dark contrast.

The MetalWorks Connections System also features painted aluminum panels, but in standard 4" and 8" widths. These panels are offered in one of two perforation options, both of which provide a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.70 for better acoustical performance.

Can Be Used in Interior or Exterior Applications

Manufactured with a recycled content of 25%, both systems are available in white and in 12-foot-long lengths. Both systems can also be used in either interior or exterior applications, and both have been engineered, tested and approved in seismic zones. Custom capabilities and custom colors are available for either system.
