WINNING PROJECT: NaviNet – Corporate Office Vision 3 Architects Providence, RI

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Vision 3 Architects recently designed the new corporate offices for NaviNet, America's largest real-time healthcare communications
network, in Boston's historic Leather District. The new space encompasses approximately 65,000 s.f. of the four-story building,
featuring a design that combines both the historic elements of a building listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings,
with contemporary features through the use of finishes, colors, and textures. The contemporary design elements provide a stylish
contrast to the USGBC LEED Silver certified Beaux Arts-style building that was also the recipient of the Boston Preservation
Alliance (BPA) Preservation Achievement Award.
By distinguishing both sides of the elevator lobby, the Armstrong WoodWorks wall/ceiling detail serves as a gateway into NaviNet's
office space. Recessed linear light fixtures reflect off the angled planes of the linear wood planks, creating a dramatic
entry into the office space.
A wood ceiling detail is repeated throughout the design of the space and a linear band of Armstrong MetalWorks and WoodWorks
ceiling, accented by custom light fixtures, serves as a design element that designates the main circulation paths throughout
the large open office space.
The arched WoodWorks ceiling becomes a focal point in NaviNet's cafeteria. The ceiling, illuminated by an indirect linear
light fixture, follows the radius of the new interior storefront that mimics the existing historic arch-top exterior windows
of the Beaux Arts-style building.
