| RAW MATERIAL |
 |
| Raw materials for our ceilings are renewable and abundant in nature - Biosoluble mineral wool (the wools used in our products
meet the classification "exempt" as defined by EC directive 97/69/EC 1997), perlite, natural starch, recycled paper, recycled
tiles and clay. None of our ceiling products contain asbestos.

| A significant proportion of our ceiling tiles are produced using recycled raw materials, including slag mineral wool, other
recycled mineral wools, recycled paper and recycled ceiling tiles (both during the manufacturing process and more recently
post-consumer suspended ceilings returned to the plant). These recycled contents will now be indicated on all Armstrong's
published literature in accordance with EN ISO 14021:2001.

| DESIGNING OUT WASTE FROM PRODUCTION TO INSTALLATION |
 |
ARMSTRONG SOLUTIONS |
| At Armstrong we continue to introduce products and systems that help to reduce waste, without compromising on function or
performance, through expert engineering and innovative product design.
|
| |
| • Canopy Products – ‘discontinuous ceilings’ |
Our range of Canopy solutions blend high design along with technical benefits such as acoustical comfort, high light reflectance
and integration with thermal slabs. Many of these canopies are very easy to install and dis install, enabling easy re-location
and reuse. The Armstrong Canopy range comprises of Ultima canopies and Orcal (metal) canopies, both curved and flat, along with our new range of Optima canopies which comprise a number of shapes and sizes along with specifically designed linking kits. We have also developed a range of Axiom canopies which are manufactured to pre-designed sizes and packaged with all the necessary components in our factory. This provides
easy on site installation along with no wasted materials or components.

|
|
| • Design Solutions |
| Armstrong has the ability to work with you on developing your ideas and designs to produce custom products. Using the latest
technology to design and manufacture ceiling systems specific to our customers needs, this results in efficient design and
less waste on site. These designs can incorporate elements to provide airflow to the soffit where a continuous ceiling plane
is still required, or other functional and technical attributes.
|
| |
| • Trulok Grid Systems |
| Our waste minimisation of raw materials also extends to innovative product design. Our Trulok grid systems make extensive
use of our expertise in ‘thin gauge technology’. We use unique profiles and a rotary metal ‘stitching’ system which enables
us to save materials, whilst increasing product strength and ease of use at the same time.
|
| |
| • Axiom Profiles and Perimeter Solutions |
| Provides a number of profiles which can integrate with our standard ceilings and grid systems to eliminate the need for perimeter
cuts.
|
| |
ON THE JOBSITE |
To control the thermal environment in an office, we can use the thermal mass of the concrete to control the temperature in
the room instead of relying on air-conditioning and heating. Without the need to power these, the amount of electricity being
used is reduced significantly, lowering the building’s energy requirements. To enable the thermal slab to work efficiently, it is important to maximise the open area. Solutions like canopies make it
possible, still improving acoustical and visual comfort.
