Course Instructor
Our independent trainer Bob Hodges has over 35 years experience in the Suspended Ceiling Industry and is a registered CITB/City & Guilds Assessor. During his time in the industry he has spent 16 years in manufacturing and nearly 20 years as a Contractor.
Trainees will find the course enjoyable whilst obtaining relevant suspended ceiling fixing skills at the same time.
 
Course Details
Course A – Basic Ceiling Installation
This course is a 2-day practical training in the installation of basic suspended ceiling systems and includes
Introduction to Health & Safety
Introduction to tools & measuring
Exposed Grid
600 x 600 Module Ceiling Layout
Levelling, fixing, cutting
Semi Concealed Grid
300 x 300 Module Ceiling Layout
Levelling, fixing, cutting
Ultima Vector
Plant Tour
 
Cost: £250 per person plus VAT payable in full on booking

Course B – Advanced Ceiling Installation
This course is a 2-day practical training detailing advanced ceiling installation techniques and includes
 Review of basic installation principles
Metal – Orcal Clip-In and System 3000
Metal – Orcal exposed Grid including Axal
Sloping ceiling installation to include bulkheads, changes in level, floating ceilings
Optima Vector Installation training
Perimeter Solutions (Axiom)
Tartan grid – Bandraster and exposed tee format
Structural Fire Performance
 
Cost: £250 per person plus VAT payable in full on booking

The Location
All courses will be carried out at our Training School facilities Kingsway South, Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead NE11 0SP and commence at 08:30
Upon registration, Armstrong will raise an invoice for payment. Armstrong must receive payment in full in order to confirm all bookings.
A full refund, less a 10% administration fee, will be given for cancellations received in writing 21 days or more prior to the installation course. Refunds will not be made after this date. In the unlikely event of an installation course being cancelled, the full registration fee will be refunded but Armstrong World Industries Limited assumes no further liability.
All necessary tools and equipment shall be supplied.
A buffet lunch is provided on both days. Any special dietary requirements must be notified when the booking is confirmed.
Please note costs for transport and accommodation are not included in the Installation School price. Hotel information close to the facility and a detailed map will be sent when course booking is confirmed.
 
Health & Safety
Armstrong World Industries uphold a strong safety policy and to adhere to this, all installation school attendees MUST wear sturdy shoes for the plant tour on the second day, i.e. NO TRAINERS, just standard flat shoes (steel toe caps not required). Also as the mineral fibre plant is a typical manufacturing facility, we advise that suitable clothing should be worn.
