Sound Absorption

Armstrong has historically tested the complete range of products in accordance with the European test methods identified in the suspended ceilings product standard. Sound absorption tests are conducted to EN 20354 and rated as per EN 11654 and test certificates are readily available.

We will not mention the absorption on our labels, as the absorption result is not the only parameter to improve acoustics, see our acoustical story

Sound attenuation relies on the tile and grid assembly, so the individual components (membrane and substructure) cannot be CE marked unless sold together as a kit.

However, test certificates for measurements to EN 20140-9 and ratings to EN 717-1, the appropriate standards for sound attenuation listed in EN 13964, are readily available for Armstrong products.
