Wujiang, China, November 20, 2014 – Armstrong World Industries, a global leader in the design and manufacture of floors and ceilings, announced the official opening of its wholly owned manufacturing metal ceilings in China, rounding out its product portfolio for the Asia Pacific market.
Armstrong management team, officials from Wjiang government as well as guests of key distributors and suppliers joined the grand opening ceremony on site and visited the new operation facility around.
Featuring an area of 4,500 m2 operation, the new plant expanded its existing ceilings facility in Wujiang that opened in 2013. Equipped with state of art technology and knowhow, the new facility is making standard and custom metal ceilings, including specialty ceiling solutions that offer architects greater freedom of design while providing reliable performance and ease of use.
At full capacity, the metal operation is expected to produce 450,000 square meters of top-quality ceiling products annually. It fulfilled its first order and shipment of metal ceilings in July 2014.

Armstrong has been engaged in the metal ceiling business for several decades and set up its first metal ceiling joint venture manufacturing facility in Foshan, China in 2009. Armstrong’ ceiling solutions are found in some of the nation’s most prestigious projects, including the Shanghai Center, the Jin Mao Tower, the National Stadium and the Beijing and Suzhou metro lines. With the launch of its metal ceilings capability, Armstrong can best serve its customers with faster response times to design and service needs.
