Falling Ball Impact Test - Modified ASTM D-1037 Procedure In certain applications, such as gymnasiums, locker rooms, classrooms, corridors, and institutional settings, acoustical ceiling
assemblies may be subjected to impact from objects. Impact resistance assemblies with acoustical lay-in panels typically require
retention clips to keep panels in place upon direct impact.

Washability Test (ASTM D 4828) For applications where cleanliness is important, panels may require cleaning beyond normal maintenance procedures. Acoustical
panels with special surfaces such as DUNE, ULTIMA, OPTIMA, and VPO coatings offer superior wash resistance without compromising
panel finish integrity. The accepted test procedure is the Gardner Washability Test ASTM D 4828.

Scrubbability Test (ASTM D 2486) Ceilings installed in laboratories, clean rooms and food preparation areas are required to meet scrubbability standards -
and, sometimes, other specific criteria. The Scrubbability test evaluates a ceiling’s ability to withstand scrubbing.

Simulated Supply Air Diffuser Soiling Test Dirt accumulation not only detracts from a ceiling’s appearance, but can cost money by requiring painting or replacement of
the ceiling. In addition to reducing acoustical efficiency, soiling can cause a substantial reduction in light reflectance.
