Armstrong Commercial Flooring Recognized as a Favorite Resilient & Hard Surface Manufacturer in Top 250 Designer Survey

For the 10th year in a row, Armstrong Commercial Flooring won the top spot in Performance in the hard surface category of Floor Focus magazine's annual survey of the leading 250 design firms and was also voted #1 in Quality and Design.

“It’s our honor to have designers and architects from across the country vote Armstrong #1 in Performance for 10 years running,” said Dominic Rice, vice president, Sales & Marketing, Armstrong Commercial Floors. “Performance is critical, since the floor takes most of the wear and tear from foot and rolling load traffic. When you combine performance with quality, design, value and overall business experience, we are proud to be considered such a trusted brand. We owe a special thank you to all the design professionals surveyed, and for including Armstrong in so many magnificent projects.”

The Floor Focus survey is conducted each year to identify trends that will shape the future of the market and to gain insight on flooring surfaces and manufacturers in a number of categories. It asks top designers to weigh in on the state of the commercial market, including how they make buying decisions, favorite products, and favorite manufacturers across markets such as healthcare, education, and retail.

According to Floor Focus, in a sign of an improving commercial market, for the first time in five years, designers chose Style as being the most important factor in product selection. When it comes to choosing product, style and quality selection continue to be the top priorities of the top 250 design firms – two areas where Armstrong continues to dominate. The innovative styling of products such as NATURAL CREATIONS® luxury vinyl tile and REJUVENATIONS™ sheet vinyl has helped earn the company a top spot in Design, while admired product attributes like durability, sustainability in manufacturing, longer life spans and low maintenance options have contributed to Armstrong’s longstanding leadership in Performance.

According to Floor Focus Publisher Kemp Harr, “It’s a tremendous accomplishment to receive the highest ratings from the top designers in the commercial marketplace. Much of the data tells us that the commercial sector is returning to a healthier level of business. Specifically, color trends and designers’ concerns are returning to pre-recession responses, so excellence in Quality, Design and Performance are all key. Also of great importance is confidence in the company itself—reputation and brand strength count.”

Armstrong has delivered more than 150 years of experience demonstrating how to be a reliable, committed partner to its customers. Its fresh and versatile portfolio features STRIATIONS BioBased Tile®. Cited as a designer favorite in the survey, this environmentally-friendly product is a non-PVC alternative made from recycled limestone and U.S.-grown plant ingredients. With its sophisticated linear visual and extended size (12”x24”), it installs similarly to VCT, making the transition to sustainable materials easy.
