Armstrong Design Team Wins 4 Design Excellence Awards

LANCASTER, PA– Armstrong Commercial Flooring won 4 ADEX awards – three for different patterns in the REJUVENATIONS sheet flooring line and one for Natural Creations Luxury Vinyl Tile, Flight Path – in the annual ADEX competition sponsored by Design Journal Magazine.

“A total of four ADEX awards – three for patterns within the same line – is quite an honor. With all the innovative design and construction practices we see today, this validates further that the market wants technologically advanced and visually exciting flooring products,” said Marketing & Design Director Julianne Pierce, Armstrong Commercial Flooring.

Platinum Winner
REJUVENATIONS Wood Envy in Ambigu received the highest honor -- Platinum – for its pearlized and end-cut wood grain visuals. The designs are unique and open to more than one interpretation.

Gold Winner
REJUVENATIONS Origami, part of the Ambigu collection, achieved ADEX Gold.  Think “style” with this line, with the organic looks of homespun tweeds accented with realistic embosses, along with metal and pearl inks. All colors and designs easily mix and match with other Armstrong flooring options.

Silver Winner
REJUVENATIONS Gaya received a Silver ADEX for its realistic looks and textures that are the signature traits of this stone-influenced line. Fresh stone visuals enliven the entire Stone Run collection with textural embosses in a wide range of colors and exclusive patterns that coordinate with other Armstrong floors.

Gold Winner
Natural Creations Flight Path from the Mystix collection was awarded ADEX Gold. Innovative embossing adds texture to easy-to-maintain LVT flooring. Flight Path is inspired by nesting and a-linear woven visuals, reminiscent of Beijing’s Olympics Bird Nest. The modularity and sizes of the tiles allow for virtually endless design options.

ADEX Awards
ADEX is the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furnishings marketed through the design trade. Awards are judged on form and function. Each category has potential for three award levels of Platinum, Gold or Silver, with Platinum being the highest any product can earn. Judges award points in several categories for each entry. Total points earned determine each product’s score. Minimum scores are needed to qualify for awards.

 An anonymous panel of professionals representing a cross-section of the design industry conducts all voting for the ADEX Awards. ADEX judges are among the ablest in their respective areas of expertise and so the ADEX Award represents the best product designs of the year in the opinion of those who themselves reside at the top of their specialty.
