Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital Lobby and Store – Washington, D.C.
Natural Creations ArborArt® selected for Girl Scout offices
The Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital area has a combined girl and adult membership of over 90,000. These Girl Scouts
are from the entire Greater Washington Region metropolitan area, which includes Washington D.C., Virginia, West Virginia and
Maryland.
Since 1999, the main office of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital has been located in downtown D.C. Recently,
as part of a tenant improvement allowance, the Girl Scout Shop and lobby areas were renovated. Renovations included replacement
of the flooring. The Girl Scout Shop sells official insignia, uniforms and program resources, and is open to their membership
and the public.
Designers for this project chose NATURAL CREATIONS® ArborArt® luxury vinyl tile for both the lobby and the shop. They preferred
this Armstrong product because the tile looks just like wood but offered a durable floor; a high-performance, low-maintenance
coating; and it was affordable! Installing NATURAL CREATIONS in both spaces also offered the ability to visually connect the
two areas seamlessly, without the need for transitions or coordinating different flooring products. The result is a beautiful
installation that will withstand the heavy traffic of staff and visitors as they go about the daily business of “building
girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”
