PVC makes good sense

PVC makes good environmental sense
PVC is acknowledged as being ideal for floor covering thanks to its resistance to wear and extreme durability. What many people may not know is just how environmentally friendly PVC is.

The production and use of vinyl flooring does not result in any significant impairment to man or the environment whatsoever. Life cycle assessments such as studies carried out by the EU Commission confirm the high standards achieved by PVC.

Easy on valuable resources
The take-off point for PVC production rock salt (table salt) and crude oil (43 %). The other raw materials involved, such as chalks, pigments and plasticisers are all physiologically harmless.

PVC does not contain formaldehyde or PCP, heavy metals, lead or cadmium. Vinyl is a product that is easy on valuable resources, compared with floor coverings made of polyethylene, polypropylene, synthetic rubber or elastomers.

Moreover, DLW Vinyl flooring uses a relatively low level of energy during the manufacturing process.

Hygienic and perfectly safe
Numerous scientific studies worldwide have demonstrated that PVC products do not present any risk to man. This is clearly demonstrated by the use of PVC in the medical sector: be it infusion bags and tubing, adhesive plasters or oxygen tents.

Safeguarding against flammability
DLW vinyl floor covering safeguards against flammability. Our products have been tested in accordance with international standards EN13501 and achieve the most positive results for resilient flooring.

Easy disposal and recycling
Disposal of vinyl flooring is easy, since old flooring and production waste are 100% recyclable. As a founder member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft PVC-Bodenbeläge Recycling (AgPR - joint venture for recycling PVC flooring), Armstrong has played a pioneering role here.
