Millions of Australians each day work under an Armstrong ceiling system or on an Armstrong Floor. Around the world - Armstrong is the world's largest manufacturer of resilient vinyl flooring products and the largest manufacturer of acoustic ceilings systems. Manufacturing facilities are placed all over the globe, including Australia, where today, two flooring plants operate. Armstrong in Australia is a manufacturer and supplier of resilient floor finishes and acoustic ceiling and wall systems. Floor Operations (FPO) is run under the banner of Armstrong World Industries (Australia) Pty. Ltd. and and Building Operations (BPO) under Armstrong World Industries Pty. Ltd.. The two Armstrong floor plants are the only resilient (vinyl) flooring plants in Australia and therefore Armstrong is the only supplier committed to local manufacture.

Armstrong Floor Products

Head office and our main warehouse are located in Braeside, Victoria. Sales offices are located in Melbourne (Victoria & Tasmania), Brisbane (Queeensland & New Guinea), Sydney (New South Wales & Australia's Capital Territory) and sales people in Adelaide (South Australia & Northern Territory) and Perth (Western Australia).

As Australia's leading provider of commercial resilient flooring we have plant operations at Braeside manufacturing homogeneous and inlaid sheet flooring and wall systems, and Thomastown manufacturing floor tile and vinyl accessories (wallbase, skirting & trims). Armstrong is Australia's only manufacturer of resilient (PVC) commercial flooring. Core recent accomplishments include:

• Australia's number two recycler of post consumer PVC bottles with close to 90 tonnes used annually.
• Recent addition of recycled HDPE shopping bags into floor tile that is then installed into supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths.
• Waste Wise accreditation at both plant sites.
• Signatory to the Greenhouse Challenge
• Signatory to the PVC Product Stewardship Commitment
• Programs to recycle site waste/off cuts

In distribution commercial and residential markets are served via Armstrong 'direct to the trade' from our Melbourne distribution centre to the Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales regions. External distributor partners serve the New South Wales, New Zealand, Western Australia and Queensland markets.

The People

Close to 200 people are directly employed by the combined divisions, representing over 25 nationalities. These people are our key and there is more than 1,000 years of combined expertise within the Armstrong Australian Family. Including suppliers and associated bodies, over 1,000 people a day are at work in continuing the Armstrong market leadership.
