Matt Espe is CEO of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. He joined the company in July 2010.

Matt brings 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, distribution and management with global manufacturing businesses to Armstrong. In his previous role at Ricoh Americas Corporation, a subsidiary of Ricoh Company, Ltd., he served as chairman and CEO. Prior, he was chairman and CEO of IKON Office Solutions, Inc., a $4 billion office equipment distributor and services provider with 24,000 employees. Ricoh acquired IKON in 2008.

Before joining IKON in 2002, Matt was president and CEO of GE Lighting. In a career that spanned 22 years there, he managed multiple business units as well as functions including sales, marketing, distribution and manufacturing. Along with a wealth of experience, he also brings a finely-tuned global perspective, having led businesses in Europe, Asia and North America.

Matt is a former director of Unisys Corporation and Graphic Packaging, Inc. He currently serves on the advisory board at the College of Business and Economics at the University of Idaho and on the advisory council for Drexel University's Lebow College of Business, Center for Corporate Governance. Additionally, Matt is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and the Wall Street Journal CEO Council. He graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor's degree in marketing, and received his MBA from Whittier College.

Vic Grizzle is CEO of Armstrong Building Products, the Armstrong ceilings and walls business. He joined the company in January 2011.

Vic brings 23 years of experience in process improvement, sales, marketing and global business leadership to Armstrong. Prior to joining the company, he was group president of Global Structures, Coatings and Tubing for Valmont Industries, a $2 billion global leader of infrastructure support structures for utility, telecom and lighting markets, and manufacturer of mechanized irrigation equipment for large scale farming. Before Valmont, he was president of the commercial power division of EaglePicher Corporation, a $700 million diversified manufacturer and marketer of advanced technology and industrial products for space, defense, automotive, filtration, pharmaceutical, environmental and commercial applications. Earlier in his career, Vic spent 16 years at GE.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic University.

Mark Hershey is general counsel, secretary and chief compliance officer of Armstrong World Industries. He joined the company in July 2011.

Mark came to Armstrong from Ricoh Americas Corp., a $6 billion subsidiary of Ricoh Company Ltd., a global manufacturer and leader in digital office equipment, software and solutions. There, he was general counsel and secretary with responsibility for corporate governance, customer and vendor transactions, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, employment litigation and counseling, commercial litigation, ethics, physical security and regulatory and enterprise compliance. Prior to his role with Ricoh, Mark worked for IKON Office Solutions and played a key role in driving the integration of the Ricoh and IKON businesses and realigning the legal department after Ricoh acquired IKON in 2008. Mark started with IKON in 1999 as counsel, progressing rapidly to senior counsel, to vice president – Transactional Law, and then to general counsel and secretary for the $5 billion distributor of office equipment and document management solutions. Before IKON, Mark was an associate in the corporate department of Stradley, Ronon, Stevens and Young, LLP in Philadelphia.

He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from The Pennsylvania State University and a law degree from Villanova University.

Don Maier is senior vice president, Global Operations of Armstrong World Industries. He joined the company in January 2010.

Don came to Armstrong from TPG Capital Advisors, the global buyout group of TPG, a private investment firm. Prior, he held a steady progression of roles at Hillenbrand Industries, beginning in 1987 as a manufacturing and product engineer for subsidiary Batesville Casket Company, and later moving from product development and marketing leadership roles to vice president, Manufacturing and Operations. In 2002, he became vice president, Strategy and Business Development, for a larger Hillenbrand subsidiary, Hill-Rom, a $1.5 billion leading global producer of health care equipment, technology and workflow IT systems. In 2003, he became vice president and general manager, and in 2005 he was named senior vice president – North America. In that role, he had P&L responsibility for a $1.4 billion business with a $325 million operating budget and $90 million capital budget.

Don is a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Manufacturers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and an MBA, with a concentration in Marketing, from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Tom Mangas is CEO of Armstrong Floor Products. He joined Armstrong in February 2010 as CFO, leading Finance, Information Technology, Global Business Services and Process Improvement.

Tom came to Armstrong from the $28 billion beauty and grooming business Procter & Gamble Co. where he served as CFO after a steady progression of finance roles at that company. He has broad domestic and international experience including implementing tough cost management initiatives, exploiting new growth opportunities, acquisition integration, strategic planning and resource allocation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from the University of Virginia.

Stephen F. McNamara is vice president and controller of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Mr. McNamara joined Armstrong in 1999 as the manager, External Reporting. Since then, he has held the positions of assistant controller and director Internal Audit. Prior to Armstrong, Mr. McNamara was employed at Hunt Corp. in Philadelphia where he was assistant controller. Before that, he was a supervising senior auditor with Deloitte & Touche.

A Certified Public Accountant, he graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Steve Poole is vice president, New Business Development of Armstrong World Industries. He joined the company in February 2011.

Steve came to Armstrong with more than 30 years of experience in business development, P&L management and marketing. When Ricoh acquired IKON in 2008, he was vice president, Business Integration. From 2003-2008, he worked for IKON in several capacities including running a $100 million P&L focused on outbound imaging supplies, leading IKON’s e-Channel strategy and implementation, enhancing market coverage, and developing a printer-focused strategy to augment IKON’s historically copier-focused strategy. Before IKON, Steve worked for GE for 26 years in a variety of leadership roles in Business Development, Sales and Marketing, e-Business, HR and Finance.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from University of Delaware and an MBA in operations from Temple University.

Dave Schulz is CFO of Armstrong World Industries. He joined the company in 2011 as vice president, Finance for Armstrong Building Products.

Before coming to Armstrong, Dave served as CFO of Procter & Gamble Company Americas’ snacks division, and from 2008 to 2009 as the finance director of the J.M. Smucker Company coffee business unit following its merger with the P&G Folgers Coffee Company. His experience covers a wide range of finance leadership positions encompassing operational finance, planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and financial reporting. Prior to joining Procter & Gamble, he was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Villanova University and a master’s degree in management from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.

Ellen Romano is senior vice president, Human Resources of Armstrong World Industries. She joined the company in 1983.

Ellen’s career at Armstrong includes a steady progression of roles in HR including HR process management, improvement and organization development, as well as business partner assignments in the company’s flooring and ceiling divisions. She has been instrumental in helping to expand Armstrong’s global employee base, particularly in Asia and Europe, and played a critical role in identifying and selecting key leaders to drive the company’s strategy in those markets. Ellen leads numerous global HR initiatives including leadership development and organization vitality, resource allocation, organization design, and human resource process and system integration.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Grove City College.
