Our Corporate Policy on the Environment

Armstrong recognizes the importance of protecting the environment and using resources intelligently. We are committed to exercising environmental stewardship in our dealings with customers, employees, government, and community neighbors and in meeting an obligation to future generations.
Our overall goal is to make sure that our activities as a corporation are in harmony with the natural world around us.

Armstrong's policy on the environment embodies these aims:

To exercise care in the selection, use and conservation of energy and raw materials, especially natural resources, to assure that we are not wasting such resources.
To make use of research and production technology to provide for the protection of our environment in workplaces and communities and to seek to reduce risk to the earth, its waters, and atmosphere.
To be prepared for emergencies and to act promptly and responsibly to protect people and the environment should accidents or incidents occur.
To make only products that are environmentally compatible in their intended use by our customers and consumers, and to accompany them with adequate information for their intended use, maintenance and disposal.
To prevent pollution at the source, to reduce waste, to make use of recycling in all our operations and to take care that we dispose of unneeded materials in an environmentally appropriate manner.
