Vinyl Floor Cleaning

One of the many great features of vinyl flooring is its ease of maintenance. These days, we’re all busy – who wants to spend a lot of time cleaning their floors? But when we do, we want it to be quick and easy, right? Let me give you some tips for keeping your vinyl floor clean and looking good for years to come.

First, let’s keep the dirt OUT. You can reduce the amount of dirt being brought into your home by using both outdoor and indoor walk-off mats. Outdoor mats capture dirt, water, snow or other outside debris before it enters your home. Indoor mats will help collect what debris gets brought to your door, before it gets onto your floor.

Cleaning Your Vinyl Floor

Sweep, vacuum or dust mop your vinyl flooring to remove any loose dust or dirt which can scratch your floor.
For routine cleaning, use Armstrong Once ‘n Done Resilient & Ceramic Floor Cleaner Concentrate for one-step washing.
Directions: Mix 1/2 CAP (or 1/4 CUP) of Once ‘n Done Floor Cleaner to 1 gallon of warm water.
Use a clean sponge mop to wash your floor. If you’re using a new mop, make sure to rinse it well before you start.
Now simply mop – and you’re done!
DON’T RINSE! (No rinsing is necessary with Once ‘n Done.)

Now you may be asking: why should I use Armstrong floor care products? Good question! The answer is: because they’ve been tested and are specially formulated to work on Armstrong floors and other floors.

All-In-One System

If you’ve retired your bucket and sponge mop for good, you could use our Armstrong Once ‘n Done Resilient & Ceramic Cleaning System. This “all-in-one" kit provides everything you need to clean your floor, including ready-to-use, Once ‘n Done Spray Floor Cleaner, a swivel-head mop, and a reversible, washable terry cloth cover. To clean your floor, simply spray the cleaner liberally on your vinyl floor and wipe it dry with the mop. No water or bucket is needed. And there’s no rinsing required. It’s that easy!

Floor Protectors

Using proper floor protectors on furniture will reduce indentions, scratches and abrasions to your floor. Usually the wider the piece of furniture, the wider the floor protector needed. Armstrong Floor Protectors distribute the weight evenly, as well as prevent indentations by allowing the protector to swivel. Helpful tips: Remember to wipe off the bottom of the protectors to keep them clean and replace the felt when it’s worn.

Cleaning Armstrong vinyl floors is quick and easy – leaving you time for more fun activities!
