Time for a New Floor

It’s been a few years now that I’ve been thinking about replacing the flooring in our home. Yes, I’m quite a procrastinator when it comes to spending money on home improvement projects. To get myself motivated, I came up with 7 reasons for why I need new flooring:

1. I can’t hide that stain on the carpet with the toy box forever.

2. The dog seems to have gotten over her stomach issues. (see #1)

3. Carpeting is most likely aggravating my daughter’s allergies.

4. We’re not planning to move any time soon.

5. Our neighbors just installed a hardwood floor, and it’s gorgeous.

6. I’ve made public my procrastination in the form of this blog, so now I’ve got to do it.

7. I work for a company that has countless beautiful floors to choose from.

In my job, I get to see all of the flooring possibilities available. Our designers do a fabulous job of staying on top of the latest flooring trends, and they’ve created designs to match any taste.

Armstrong's Performance Plus Hardwood

Hardwood Flooring for Active Homes

I know I want hardwood throughout most of the first and second floors. Hardwood is timeless and will be a nice selling point down the road when we decide to sell our home. Since I have a nine-year-old and a dog, it’s possible that the floor could show some wear-and-tear over time, so I need to find a wood floor that is durable.

My timing couldn’t be better.

Performance Plus Hardwood

Armstrong just introduced a new engineered hardwood floor called Performance Plus that sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. Performance Plus is acrylic-infused, which means that the natural pores in this hardwood collection are filled in with acrylic to make them more durable. These floors also have a special aluminum-oxide coating so they’re resistant to stains and scratches – good to know since I have an active dog in my house. Performance Plus also has a lifetime finish warranty which tells me this is going to be one tough floor.

What more could I ask for? I’m ready to get started!
