A Day in the Life of an Armstrong Customer Service Rep

This blog post is part of our occasional series that describes “a day in the life” of an Armstrong employee who works in our residential flooring business. This post was written by Emily Swingler in Customer Relations and Technical Services.

This group is based in Lancaster, PA, and is available to take your calls Monday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1-800-233-3823.

Armstrong Flooring - Day in the Life of a Customer Service Rep

 

6:15 a.m.

Alarm sounds, time to get up! (Snooze sounds like a much better option.)

6:30

Second alarm sounds, which means I have to REALLY get up this time. After a shower, I make my way to the kitchen to brew a cup of Joe to get the morning started.

7:00

Let the puppy out and catch some of the local news, while munching on my morning toast.

7:30

Off to the office I go.

8:00

Review emails received overnight from customers and prioritize on the order to respond. (Customers who contact us after hours have the option to send us email communications.)

Cleaning Up After the Holidays

Welcome to the start of a new year! I hope you enjoyed the holidays as much as I did!

Cleaning Up DecorationsNow that the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is over, it’s time to pack up the decorations, take down the tree, and move your furniture back where it belongs. What a perfect time to spruce up your home!  Let me help by giving you tips for cleaning your floors.

If your home was anything like mine during the holidays, it was filled with lots of decorations, a Christmas tree, frequent family gatherings, holiday parties, gift exchanges, and too much food! To accommodate our large family parties, we held most of our holiday events in the largest area of our house, which has vinyl sheet flooring. I love the comfort underfoot that vinyl provides, but most of all, I love the easy clean-up!

Wendy Roeser, Manager of Customer Relations - ArmstrongWith over 18 years in Customer Service, you know I gotta love this job! Nothing gives me more pleasure than knowing I work for a company who takes pride in providing quality products and service to our customers!

As a customer service rep and now manager, I’ve come to the conclusion that most of our customers don’t call to complain. Truly, they are calling because they bought our product – which they love and adore in their home – but have an issue or a question about it. They want to be treated with respect, speak with a knowledgeable person, get solutions to their issues or inquiries, and have the answers provided accurately and efficiently the first time they call. Like most of us, they don’t want to be transferred between departments or from rep to rep! So we do our best to accommodate them.
