For several months now, we’ve had a Q&A feature available on our laminate flooring products that allows you to ask about what’s on your mind. We’ve been paying attention to what you’ve been asking, and this post is a collection of most-asked, most-wondered-about laminate questions from real flooring shoppers. Maybe there is something here that can help you with your flooring purchase!
Typically, you’re advised to have some percentage of “waste” flooring when you do a project. Sometimes, people end up with some extra flooring at the end of a project, which in turn ends up occupying some serious storage space in basements and closets everywhere.

At the 4th Annual GreenStep Awards hosted by Floor Covering Weekly (FCW), we earned two awards: a GreenStep Promotion Award for our sponsorship of a “green” home exhibit at Epcot® and a GreenStep Product award for a new environmentally friendly flooring tile.

I never considered myself a “green” consumer, but I can’t help noticing all of the news stories, magazine articles and blogs that talk about the dangers of the chemicals found in common household products and how they affect our health – everything from cleaning products to paint, furniture, plastic bottles, even the clothes we wear and the food we eat.
As a mother to a 5-year-old, I have become more conscious of green products and try to give my daughter the healthiest environment possible for her to grow up in. For example, I always buy organic food and products that are certified to be healthy. I don’t want to risk her health by buying a product that could be toxic to our home.
On Earth Day, the VISION House, a new “green” model home exhibit opened at Epcot® at Walt Disney World®. VISION House showcases many environmentally friendly products, like hardwood flooring and cabinets, that visitors can install in their own homes. It’s such an exciting project to be a part of that we decided to ask Mara Villanueva-Heras, VP-Marketing for Residential Floors, about Armstrong’s involvement.
- Why did Armstrong become a sponsor for the VISION House exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot?
Floors are products we live on every day. A floor is a huge component of a room, both from a visual and lifestyle aspect. Armstrong is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Green Builder® Media and Disney to show how typical, accessible products like ours can make an impact. The exhibit demonstrates that anybody can change the world by making positive changes in their own home.
We’re excited to announce Armstrong Flooring and Cabinets are featured in a new exhibit at Epcot at Walt Disney World®, opening late spring, 2012!
VISION House®, which will be located in INNOVENTIONS at Epcot, is the first “green” house built at a Disney theme park. The new exhibit is part of Green Builder® Media’s VISION House series, a group of demonstration homes built around the country to showcase green building and sustainable living ideas.
