Recycling and Environmental Stewardship
Armstrong has a long history of recycling and environmental stewardship – from re-using cork waste for linoleum floors in the early 1900s to planting hardwoods to replace the wood we use to make floors today.
As the leading manufacturer of flooring in North America, Armstrong is committed to sustaining our natural resources and reducing our environmental impact.
Globally, we’re working on reducing energy use, reducing water consumption and supporting sustainable forest management practices.

Armstrong Supports Homes for Our Troops
Armstrong Floor Products is the exclusive flooring supplier to Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans.
During 2013-2016, a portion of the sales from the new American Scrape hardwood collection will support the American product donation for an estimated 100 homes built across the country.
Products donated through the sponsorship include Alterna luxury vinyl, with a textured, smooth surface for slip resistance and warmth underfoot, Beckford Plank Hardwood, and Turlington Signature Series collections.
Homes for Our Troops
Homes For Our Troops builds specially adapted homes for service members who have been severely injured in combat operations since September 11, 2001.
All homes are built at no cost to the veteran through the support of individuals, foundations, and corporate contributors, like Armstrong.
Homes for Our Troops has built over 130 specially adapted homes in 38 states. View a map of current home building projects.
