Alterna Luxury Vinyl Tile

Live comfortably with Alterna luxury vinyl tile. The refined beauty of ceramic tile flooring is now a popular option for everyday living.

With Alterna’s innovative design, you get the classic detailing and sophisticated look of ceramic floor tile, along with the durability and easy care of vinyl.

Tile Realism

The look is uniquely ceramic – with all the subtle shade variations and color depth – yet Alterna feels warmer and more comfortable underfoot. It’s a perfect balance of contemporary luxury and practical performance.

Installs Anywhere in Your Home

Alterna is constructed with a durable engineered stone base, so it's strong yet flexible enough to cover subfloor irregularities that might cause cracks in ceramic flooring. Alterna flooring also resists the effects of temperature and moisture changes, so it’s at home in kitchens, baths, basements, and laundry rooms.

If you want the richness and beauty of a ceramic floor, but not the cost, messy installation, and cold surface, visit your local flooring store to compare traditional tile with the warm, stylish, high performance alternative – Alterna luxury vinyl.

Alterna luxury vinyl tile can be installed with out or without grout. While both looks are popular, the grouted option provides a more authentic stone or tile look.

Armstrong makes it easy to choose the right coordinated grout for your flooring installation. Simply check the color chart for the recommended grout color that matches your Alterna floor.

Installing Grout

  • Grouting may be done immediately after installation – or the following day
  • Use only Armstrong Premixed Sanded Acrylic Grout. Traditional cement grouts can NOT be used with Alterna.

Installation

 Alterna Installation

If you’ve installed a floor before or you’re comfortable with DIY tools like a trowel and a utility knife, you can handle an Alterna installation.

You’ll find Alterna is much easier to install than ceramic tile. Typically, you can install Alterna in about half the time it would take to complete a ceramic tile installation.

Mesa Stone - Beige

Love my new floor!!

9/7/2014

Mesa Stone Beige has just been installed in my bathroom. I can only rate it on appearance. It is beautiful!! After 6 months I will rate it on durability and maintenance.

We have a very large basement and had previously carpeted it. Unfortunately, pet stains were a constant problem, so I explored options and settled on this tile. We love it. It looks like Italian Travertine tile but it is soft to walk on, stays at room temperature, (mounted on a concrete basement floor in the dead of winter in Oregon it's amazing to have a floor that is the same as air temperature and means we didn't need heating coils under it like real ceramic tile). It is also quiet when our dogs run on it. And now pet stains and spills are not a problem at all as it is totally grouted and waterproof. Thinking of using it in a commercial building we own as we have not had one problem with wear in two years.

This is a Great Product!

7/10/2014

I had this vinyl tile installed professionally in the kitchen and adjoining breakfast area in a staggered block pattern with a small grout line --- about 290 sq. ft. The installation process itself went quickly and the guys were finished in no time. In four words, the flooring looks perfect! I did a lot of research about flooring, both online, reviewing consumer magazines, and talking with friends, to find out what kind of flooring might be the best choice. I decided that the Armstrong luxury vinyl tile fit the bill the best for me. My house is on a cold concrete slab and the future flooring would have to endure heavy traffic and frequent spills. Not only is the new flooring warm on bare feet, it seems to be softer than one would expect. I like the warranty that Armstrong offers regarding durability and especially how easy it is to keep clean (not one of my strong points.) Additionally, the grout Armstrong uses for this tile is unlike other grouts that are used with ceramic tile -- this grout won't stain over time since it is resin-based and therefore not porous. I'm extremely happy with this flooring and feel that it is worth every dime I paid for it. I urge you to check it out.

Allegheny Slate - Italian Earth

Great Floor

7/10/2014

I put this tile in my basement and I love it. The color is great and to mantain the floor is easy. I was worried about the cool coming thru the concrete into the tile but this doesn't happen. The tile stays warm to your feet. I had carpet before and it feel about the same. I like it so much that I'm going to have the kicthen floor replaced next.

Beautiful look

6/11/2014

Our last kitchen floor was a wood laminate - it was down 10 years and still looked great. We were hesitant to go with something else, but a friend suggested this and we couldn't be happier. The tiles were installed with grout on the diagonal and they look fabulous. As it's only been three weeks, I can't speak to durability - but it's already had quite a bit of abuse with the cabinet installation and so far, so good.

It looks gorgeous in my bathroom, make it looks bigger and brighter.

I didn't install it myself, I called some company that has a big commercial (Empire). That is my mistake. should go to Home Depot instead, it will be more than $300.00 cheaper. In other word, I got fooled.
