 Q: Why are some vinyl tile products grouped under the name Luxury Vinyl?

Luxury vinyl is the category name for two of our premium vinyl tile products: Alterna™ Tile and Luxe Plank™. We categorize these two product lines as luxury vinyl because they showcase premium product visuals, warranties, and installation options that cannot be found in our standard vinyl tile offering (peel & stick tiles).

 Q: Can I use rugs or mats on my Armstrong luxury vinyl floor?

Yes, as long as they are labeled “colorfast” by the manufacturer. We recommend non-staining vinyl-backed mats or woven rugs. We do not recommend the use of rubber- or latex-backed mats because the chemical (antioxidant) used to keep the backing from becoming brittle can permanently stain your floor.

 Q: Can I use any manufacturer’s grout with Armstrong Alterna ™ Tile?

We recommend using the Armstrong pre-mixed and color coordinated selection of grout choices when installing Alterna tile with grout. Our pre-mixed grout is ready to use, requires no sealing, is stain resistant, resists cracking and can handle light foot traffic within 24hrs. of installation.

 Q: Where can I install Armstrong Luxury Vinyl flooring?

Armstrong Alterna™ Tile and Luxe Plank™ flooring can be installed on all levels of the home over most existing subfloors. We recommend reviewing the complete installation instructions and visiting our DIY area for more information

 Q: Do I need to wax my Armstrong Luxury Vinyl floor?

No, that’s the beauty and ease offered by Armstrong Luxury Vinyl floors, they resist staining, and are easy to clean and require no waxing.

 Q: Which cleaning products are safe to use on my Armstrong Luxury Vinyl floors?

We recommend using Armstrong Once 'n Done® no-rinse floor cleaner. We do not recommend detergents, abrasive cleaners, or “mop and shine” products. Never use paste wax or solvent-based polishes on your Luxury Vinyl floor.
