This product is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

November 1, 2011

I was looking for a hardwood floor company and I heard from a neighbor that they used Armstrong, I asked them how it looked, how it was, how easy it was with dogs, etc. and they said well look at our floor do u see any gashes or any scratches on our floor? now their floor was not scratched at all so I went to Armstrong and they helped me with a bunch of things like how much it will cost etc. I decided to get maple in cocoa brown and I loved it ever since they put the first plank down. there are barely any scratches and no gashes! my dog is the most hyper thing in the world and I've not seen that many scratches, and have I mentioned no gashes. the floor hasn't chipped yet and I've had this product for quite a while now. Pretty much, the floor is amazing and I love it! if I were you I would get this flooring and with out a doubt wouldn't wait. go to Armstrong where your dream floor awaits.

Good looking but dents easily

October 22, 2011

We like the color and overall appearance of this engineered wood. But to our dismay, this flooring scratches and dents very easily, I will be careful in using in high traffic areas. I think it was an expensive flooring with 25 year warranty but not strong enough to withstand normal wear- tear.

Beautiful color

October 10, 2011

We were replacing carpet and decided to go with the birch engineered hardwood, Looks great in the right lighting. We read the instructions that came in the box and decided to nail it down using 1.5 inch cleat nails. Big mistake, every so often you can see notches in the wood where the nails are. From other angles and low light its not noticeable. Expensive life lesson learned, Do not nail even if the instructions say you can.

Color variations of wood stain brings the floor to its full beauty

October 1, 2011

"The picture of this product in this ad does not do the flooring justice. The actual flooring once laid has a variations of browns, red, yellow and other muted tones that will blend with any decor. Sahara adds a warmth to the room. It is not to light as to where the room fades out and not to dark to show all the dust bunnies and other daily living distractions that a floor receives. It will blend well with any decor from modern to rustic or traditional. As for installation I have a professional installing the product. As for cleaning I will be using Armstrong recommended cleaning products. I can say pet's oops do clean up well without damage to the floor. The low luster is gentle on the eyes especially when sunlight is directly on it. Being elderly I was afraid the floor would be slippery but it is not. I gave a good for durability since it has been only a month since it was put down. As for installation the professional did not have problems with the floor. It is noted that some of the beveling areas do not fit tight and small gaps are noted. The built up of dirt in these areas may eventually show but ,that is for the future and only time will tell. At the present time I am satisfied with the product."

Can't get a better look...

September 29, 2011

"Love the overall look of the floors, however, the color is hard to keep clean and does show scratches easily. But is much more durable that other flooring I have owned in the past (Bamboo).

We installed around 1100 sq ft and did have several pieces that were dis-colored, that we had to work around, which was disappointing, would have expected better quality control from Bruce/Armstrong."

This engineered oak flooring is durable and beautiful.

September 25, 2011

Thanks for engineering a hardwood that can be used on slab. Our family has lived on this flooring in the gunstock stain since 1980. People still ask where I acquired it, who installed it, and what is the finish. It cleans with a good vacuum; even the kitchen only requires a quick wipe when liquid is spelled. Nothing else has ever been necessary, and now it has the patina of a fine old floor. I wish I knew how to send pictures so that you and all could see how durable and beautiful this 30 year old product is. . If I'm the winner I'll find someone to make pictures. In fact, this flooring survived a dishwasher flood. I would not have anything else on my floors. I now plan to remove the carpet from my bedrooms and install this flooring.

The perfect match...

September 21, 2011

After many weeks of searching for a match to our existing (damaged) hardwood floor, this flooring was recommended and it exceeded our expectations. It is nearly impossible to see where the old ends and the new begins. We were so pleased we decided to remove the carpet from our breakfast area and replace it with the same hardwood, once again joining our existing flooring. It is absolutely beautiful. It has opened the entire area up to appear much more roomy. It is so much easier to clean and maintain than the carpet was.

Product was a no-brainer and made my room look elegant.

September 16, 2011

I researched flooring for a few weeks before I made a decision. I shopped around, measured my room, got a quote, found a retail outlet and made my decision. The pricing was right, I loved the look and researched installation and daily care. I knew it would beat the look and care of my old carpet. I had two dogs and I knew the care would be a ""breeze"". My friends & myself cleared out my room. I took out the old carpet and cleaned the sub-floor. I installed myself, It was a tongue & groove system. Easy installation. My dogs don't even phase my new floor. Plus the heavy traffic from a few Parties I hold during the year didn't have me worried. I usually clean my floor about 2 or 3 time a week. It is very easy. The hue made my whole room look elegant and very warm and inviting. I knew Hardwood was the way to go over time. The Butterscotch color went very well with my furniture. Plus it was easy to match fabric and paint.

All in all, I'm VERY happy with my decision. Plus great customer support. The helpful staff answered my questions within a day and helped me with buying, installation and care questions. I know they were there to support my selection. I'm so happy with Armstrong and my new Floor. Hands down one of the easiest decorating tasks I've had in my new house.

This product is elegant in appearance and shows well in any light

September 15, 2011

My home owner lives in a modestly designed town home. I recommended this product to the home owner because it matched her stair railings, and because of it's elegance and beauty. The 3 1/4inch width added so much depth to each area, making the rooms appear larger. I installed it in both the living and dining rooms, and stairwell landings. It added a beautiful rich and elegant texture to the rooms and stairwells. It was very easy to install and each plank lay against the other with ease. Your eyes simply glide along the adjoining seams and connections with ease, and most importantly, her Grandson is certainly enjoying sliding across it in his sock feet.

Disappointed

September 14, 2011

The red wood floor has aesthetic appeal; however it is not durable which raises question regarding the quality of the wood. As an example of its performance impression have been realized on the surface of the wood from such things as the placement of a chair on the wood surface. It seems to show dents very easily with the weight that one would expect the wood surface to normal tolerate in such a short period of time after installation. We’ve only had the floor for two years and we are already experiencing these problems.

What a great value !

September 14, 2011

"It started out that I bought enough of this spice oak to finish a bed room. I had help from a friend who was in the business to start me out. After finishing the bedroom, I decided that it looked so good that I would do another one by myself. When I finished that one I knew I would just finish off the house and do the whole thing. I ended up doing my hall way on a 45 degree angle. I get so many compliments about my floor . I had no problems installing it. It comes with simple instructions and recommendations. Nothing else looks like real hardwood flooring. To top it off it is easy to clean with a micro fiber mop. I would recommend this flooring to any one! I look forward to enjoying this investment for years to come!"

Love the way it looks

September 14, 2011

We chose this particular floor because of the wide planks and we thought the color and grain looked unique. We wanted something elegant and unique and believe we found it with this product. We've only had this for about 1 month so we cannot fully attest to the quality or durability. We do notice that dust/dirt/water spots shows up quite easily.

Floor was easy to install looks great

September 14, 2011

While the floor was easy to install and the completed job is a beautiful easy to maintain floor, there are issues as with any floor covering. After installation I tested a section comprising of two joined pieces as same type as the joints with our original floor. That is to say just the interlocking pieces, no glues adhesives or sealants , then for a test I immersed the sample overnight in water and to my surprise the joined areas were unaffected by the water. This does not suggest you should ever allow moisture or liquid to remain on the floor for any length of time. However while this impressed me regarding the durability of the floor within a two week period our pet cat ,and this is not a common problem, had a small accident overnight in the form of diarrhea . This had remained on the floor overnight and damaged the joint in the floor . Where the joint locks together a swell, raised area has occurred, the surface however was not affected. Having done my research on flooring I am still pleased with the product , and its ease of installation.

This floor has antic style

September 13, 2011

The look is very unique and beautiful. But durability is not that strong. It is very thin, so easy to absorb water.

Answers to Your Flooring Questions

Q: What is the difference between solid and engineered hardwood?

A: Solid hardwood is exactly as it sounds - one solid piece of wood. An engineered product is still considered to be a hardwood, however instead of one solid piece, it is made up of multiple plys of wood that are adhered together. The engineered structure allows the product to be more versatile as far as where it can be installed. Engineered products (barring a few exceptions) would be safe to install over radiant heat, as well as below grade.

Q: What exactly is laminate flooring?

A: Laminate is a composite structure that is made up mostly of a high definition fiber board (HDF). This board is then covered with a melamine soaked cellulose paper with aluminum oxide. Both wood and stone visuals are available. Laminate is a product that can be installed on any grade level of the home.

Q: Will my hardwood change color over time?

A: Since hardwood is a natural product, all hardwood undergoes a process called Patina. This process involves a change in the color of the wood over time. Exposure to light is normally what will cause this to happen. Certain species will change color faster than others and also may have a more pronounced color change. It is important to understand that if a portion of your floor is covered with a rug or a piece of furniture, over time that portion of the floor will not change color the same way as the remainder of the floor. Since that area is not exposed to as much light, the process of the color change will not be nearly as drastic.
