Product Classification
Board-to-Board Color Variation
Board-to-Board Color Variation

Wood is a natural material that features changes in color and tone. The board-to-board color variation is more pronounced in some species, less in others. If you like the look of contrasting light and dark tones, select a species that offers most color variation. If you prefer consistent color from board to board, choose the least color variation.

Hardness Scale
Hardness Scale

The density/hardness of the wood species and its ability to withstand foot traffic, children and pets will impact its wear performance, and will vary from species to species. Strong, resilient Oak is used as the industry benchmark. The hardness scale shown to the left shows the relative hardness of this wood species.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by STAY AWAY! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! We too installed this walnut flooring after recommendation from local flooring expert and are deeply disappointed with how easily it scratches and dents and we've only had it for 4 months. We've had wood floors in other homes and never had such durability/maintenance issues. There are only 3 adults living in our home - can't imagine what it would look like if there were children around. It's like there is not protective finish on the wood. We have to be vigilant about the smallest piece of furniture moving across the floor and I go around weekly touching up the scratches. What a total waste of money and trees! June 21, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Beware to pet owners Floor was beautiful when first installed on the entire first floor of our house. Now, four months later, it is destroyed to the point of needing replacement. We were assured that all hardwood scratches, but with the protective aluminum oxide finishes they are durable. Not the case, as our floors have hundreds of DEEP scratches from our dogs walking and playing on them. Our previous oak floor scratched, but these look 10 times worse. I do not recommend to anyone with pets, children, or heavy furniture. March 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Don't buy until you see this floor My wife and spent an entire day looking at various floors before making a selection. We were absolutely sold on our chosen floor until a builder-friend of mine suggested I take a look at Armstrong Walnut, a floor he puts in every one of his high-end spec homes. I have seen his build quality of my so took his advice (and a sample of our chosen floor) to a local Armstrong dealer. I fell in love with the Walnut Autumn Dusk. I was AMAZED but our chosen floor looked UGLY in comparison! The Autumn Dusk had character, color variation and rich, beautiful finish and the Armstrong company standing behind it. No-brainer: SOLD! We are having 2000' installed in December. I will post a follow-up and pictures after install. November 18, 2013
