Board-to-Board Color Variation

Board-to-Board Color Variation
Wood is a natural material that features changes in color and tone. The board-to-board color variation is more pronounced in some species, less in others. If you like the look of contrasting light and dark tones, select a species that offers most color variation. If you prefer consistent color from board to board, choose the least color variation.

Hardness Scale

Hardness Scale
The density/hardness of the wood species and its ability to withstand foot traffic, children and pets will impact its wear performance, and will vary from species to species. Strong, resilient Oak is used as the industry benchmark. The hardness scale shown to the left shows the relative hardness of this wood species.

Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has great features It looked very dark when we had the sample pieces, but once put down it was not. Very distinguished looking hardwood and easy to install. Cleaning is the only thing I've had a problem with. The darkness in it can hide dirt which I guess can be good. December 1, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Looks great when installed, however scratches and looks horrible now I had this installed in my new construction home in 2009 and was at first extremely impressed with the look of the wood. But we soon began to realize how easy this floor would scratch. And i am not talking about a light scratch, i am talk about horrible nasty looking scratches and this is just from everyday where and tear of the product. We are a typical household mom, dad, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. It seems as if any time the dogs step onto the new flooring there is a new scratch, but it is not limited to the dogs. If the kids play with the toys on the floor it scratches, if we don't take our shoes off at the front door, new scratch. I am really disappointed that this floor is pretty much ruined after only 2/12 years of service. The whole process of being ruined from the beginning. It just lacks what it takes to be a durable long lasting product. Again it looks great, and maybe if people never used the floor or you had it on the wall it would be a great option, however, it is a horrible product for a normal America family. February 21, 2012
