Alterna and Alterna ReserveThere are two distinct Alterna luxury vinyl tile collections: Alterna and Alterna Reserve. Both Alterna collections are designed to capture the timeless look of natural stone tile flooring and ceramic tile floors, while providing a comfortable surface for everyday living. The Alterna Reserve collection maintains all the features of Alterna, but with the added benefit of more dramatic, high end stone visuals. All of the patterns within each collection can be installed with grout or without grout, for a true stone or ceramic tile look. |

Slate and Stone LooksThe natural beauty of slate and stone are captured in exquisite detail in Alterna and Alterna Reserve luxury vinyl floors. Armstrong uses an exclusive state-of-the-art manufacturing process that recreates the refreshing authenticity of real ceramic, quartz, travertine stone, slate, and marble. The result is a vibrant collection of floors with a natural texture that you can actually feel. Each tile offers a perfect blend of color and pattern for the most natural installed slate or stone floor visual. |

Built to LastLuxe Plank is made up of three primary layers. On top is a protective wear layer made of an enhanced urethane that makes it easy to clean and resistant to scratches and scuffs. There is also a protective clear film layer that adds durability and helps protect against rips, tears and gouges. On the printed design layer, the visuals are very realistic natural wood planks. The bottom-most layer is the tile backing, adding structural strength and durability. |

ColorBoth the Alterna and Alterna Reserve collections offer unique, nature-inspired colors and patterning. But there’s more to these collections than highly realistic visuals. Each pattern has a variety of different tile designs: Alterna – 16, Alterna Reserve – 32. (To compare, with other luxury vinyl collections, you might find a total of 4 tile visuals.) With virtually no pattern repeat among the tiles in the Alterna collections, you can be assured of a floor with more random, natural visuals. A floor that captures the refreshing realism of nature’s beauty. Luxe Plank™ is available in most popular hardwood colors and looks. |

RoomThe wonderful combination of design options, easy installation and good value make luxury vinyl tile a flooring favorite for
utility areas, kitchens, mudrooms, bathrooms and playrooms. Luxury vinyl is not meant for stairs, but for any and all flat,
level surfaces. |

Kids and DurabilityPeople love the fact that luxury vinyl feels warmer and softer underfoot than other hard-surface flooring, like ceramic tile. It’s a friendly surface for normal household use: crawling babies, dropped dishes, flying toys and spilled sippy cups. |
|
Pets“Hard surface floors are best for pet parents because carpet absorbs odors and catches fur and dust. Alterna is not only pet-friendly, it’s family friendly since it’s wear-water-and-stain resistant. It’s also easy to clean.” Wendy Diamond |

Floor CareWe couldn’t make caring for your luxury vinyl floor any simpler. Just sweep and mop occasionally with Armstrong ONCE ‘N DONE®
Resilient & Ceramic Floor Cleaner. That’s it. |

Product CostLuxury vinyl is typically priced from $2.00 to $7.00 per square foot. |

Color and Wear LayersThe color and design of luxury vinyl can affect pricing. At the mid to high levels, look for tiles and planks that are embossed-in-register (EIR), meaning that the look and feel matches the grain and pattern of the real thing. Thicker wear and better warranties also add to the price of flooring. Your retailer can help ensure you understand your choices. |

DIY or Professional InstallationConsidering installing your luxury vinyl yourself? Installing Luxe Plank™, with its exclusive LYNX™ technology (pressure sensitive adhesive), is incredibly easy and a great DIY product. It can save you money and be a fun project, if you find that type of activity appealing. Alterna™ tile is usually professionally installed. Costs can vary, based on geography (labor rates), subfloor preparation and whether you chose a grouted or non-grouted installation. Armstrong recommends that you contact an Armstrong Certified Installer to provide you with an accurate installation cost estimate. |

Floor RemovalDon’t forget to factor-in the cost of getting rid of your old floor. Depending upon where you live, what type of floor you are removing, and your installer, budget around $2.00 per square foot to have it removed and hauled away. |

Installation OptionsThe installation options available to you will vary with the Luxury Vinyl flooring type you choose. Luxe Plank™ can be installed anywhere in the home and since it adheres to itself, not the subfloor, it can go over most existing flooring with ease. Luxe Plank is also a perfect flooring choice if you are interested in a DIY project. Alterna™ tile can be installed almost anywhere in the home using our S-288 adhesive. Professional installation is highly recommended for this product because of the complexity of gluing and grouting the tiles. Learn About Luxury Vinyl DIY |

Installation ConsiderationsReview the installation instructions carefully. No matter what kind of Luxury vinyl tile you choose, the subfloor surface
must be prepped so that it is smooth, flat and dry. Any bump, ridge, or indentation in the subfloor may eventually show through
on the surface of the vinyl tile. If you're installing directly over new concrete, it should be tested for moisture emission
rates and pH level to ensure it has cured prior to the tile's installation. |
