Rated 5 out of 5 by MicheleS Excellent We are very happy with the look and feel of this tile. We had the 8" x 16" installed in baths and laundry area. The look of slate without the weight and it feels good underfoot. We have had for a couple months and have not had any issues with chipping and scratching. September 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by ginaw Love This Floor I'm a flooring salesperson in Dalton Ga that sells alot of different manufacturers products. I choose this floor because of the quality and the look. I'm on a concrete slab and this is in my bathroom. It has been down for a year and looks brand new. I made a really good decision. October 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Mommamary I am so disappointed and a little mad I feel as the though reviewer from PA on August 24,2015 took the words straight from my mouth. We were so excited by the look of this floor and the promise of how durable it was supposed to be. Of course it was more expensive than any other products, but when it comes to long term home improvements , we fully believe you get what you pay for so go with the best you can afford. We had this installed in our kitchen, breakfast nook, and mudroom/laundry. We have lived on this floor for approx. 4 months and we are on our 3rd scratch/nick. Interestingly enough none of them have been caused by our son or our dog This last gouge is what prompted me to write a review. I have included a picture .My husband dropped a spray starch can from ironing board height and it gouged a 1/2 in rut in the surface. Looks terrible! It is in a prominent area of our kitchen, so it is VERY noticeable. I like the other reviewer planned on this flooring lasting a long, long time and now I am petrified of the future with this flooring. I have had cheap contractor vinyl that has stood up better than this. I would appreciate a return comment from your company as we are not happy customers at this point. Thanks August 29, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by disappointedDonna Looks beautiful but poor quality My husband and I waited 9 years to be in a position to renovate the interior of our 1960s house. We thought we had struck gold when we found this Alterna luxury vinyl "stone look" floor product--it's quite gorgeous, yet less costly, lower maintenance, and quieter/more comfortable than ceramic tile. (It's so comfortable on bare feet and has much less echo than ceramic.) HOWEVER, we discovered it is also much less durable. When it was first installed, we were thrilled. (Did I mention how gorgeous it is?). But now, we have been living on our new floors for 2 months, and already we have 3 separate chips in it, in 3 different locations. (We loved it so much, we had it installed in our kitchen, mud and laundry room, office, and front foyer.) We are 2 mature (50ish), careful adults (with one very small dog), yet despite our care, we have chips in our 2-months old floor. We don't recall any "incidents" that caused the chips (i.e., no recollection of dropping something). It makes we wonder what I'm going to do when company/children come to visit; I'll be a nervous wreck worried about my floor chipping instead of enjoying my visitors. And of course, now that the house is remodeled, we look forward to having more visitors--they'll just have to tip toe around in stocking feet. It also makes me wonder what my floor is going to look like in 6 mos,1 yr., 2 yrs. I was hoping this floor was going to last the rest of my life/time in this house, but that now seems very unlikely. I am really sad, disappointed, and just a little bit sick about purchasing this product. August 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by DKnoll Love this floor! Love this composite floor! Looks beautiful... just like real stone tile... but is nicer on the feet, more durable, and easier to maintain. A great product! July 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Whtschnauz ALTERNA GREY DUST LVT We put this tile in the front entrance, hallway, powder room, kitchen, back entranceway and laundry room. We did not do the install or tear-out ourselves but paid to have it done. The tile looks easy to install...I watched the installer mark it and then break it to fit all my corners, cupboards, etc. Make sure you are excellent at measuring. Be sure to figure out which pattern you want and which way you want the pattern to run. Do this with a few tiles before the installers get there. Some of the lines make the room look longer so it is important to know how you want the tile put down. We had trouble with a haze of grout that remained after the installers had left. They came back and went over the entire floor to get rid of this haze. You could see the swipe marks. Rinse well and many times. The other issue is the grout. Decide the size of the grout line that you want. Also decide what look you want. We originally selected a grout the same tones as the tile and when it was grouted, the floor looked like sheet vinyl. Very disappointing. So the grout was removed and a darker colour that highlighted the individual tiles was added. This made all the difference. The floor has only been down for 2 weeks but believe others when they say it is nice to walk on. No hardness....feels great underfoot. It has been cold here and also very hot but the floor does not change...remains room temp. Another reason I selected this flooring was because of my dogs. I did not want hardwood that would scratch. It also seems to absorb the sound....so it is quiet. So, I am quite satisfied....and the guarantee is great! I would not hesitate to recommend it for its durability, feel underfoot, and temperature. It looks like ceramic but has all these benefits. May 22, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by kwak Would not buy this product again We were told by the flooring company we bought the flooring from that this flooring would hold up just as well as other products. We were told this is a great product for the kitchen due to its durability, wear and tear and being waterproof for all the utilities in our kitchen and mud room. We love how it looks and feels, but we have only had the flooring for 6 months and with normal wear and tear in a kitchen it is not holding up. We have dropped 2 pans (small) about 1 - 1.5 feet from the floor and both times it took literally a chunk out of the floor. We are not hard on our flooring, & we are careful. This floor should have lasted us many many years as we were told it would. We are extremely disappointed in this investment! March 30, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by edeliz Cost savings, but still good looks I had my doubts when this floor was installed in our rental income house, but once it was done, it looked quite nice. I did find some issues with the corners where there was some loosening of the laminate. Not sure if it was our installer. There is a feel difference that one has to get used to. But, all in all, this is a great alternative to pricier products. March 21, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alan Great appearing and durable vinyl product! We chose to install vinyl tile in our home because it is softer and warmer under foot, compared to ceramic tile, is water and scratch resistant and has a minimal height of less than 0.2”. We selected Armstrong Alterna Allegheny Slate Copper Mountain because of the very realistic look compared to natural slate when grouted and lifetime residential warranty. February 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bella We love it! We had ceramic tile in our kitchen/dining area for 23 years. We chose Armstrong because it was the look we wanted. Our hope was it would be warmer and easier to take care of. It looks like a true slate floor and the colors are beautiful. It is only 3 weeks old so I can't speak to the durability but I am not worried. January 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Jana277 Beautiful colors and easy to install Love the flooring for the colors and durability and it was easy to install., We did our kitchen in the "Opus" 3 way design and was told by a dealer here in Calgary that these tiles can be "butted" up with no grout needed as it also states in the Armstrong catalogue. However, the tiles, especially the 8" X 8" tiles are not cut exactly to this measurement. So when you do the three way Opus design and place your tiles down, the 8 X 8 tiles, because they are often only 7 3/8 ". leave a gap which requires grout to hide it. But still generally pleased with the flooring for color, durability and ease of installation. December 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobb123 Great Floor I put this tile in my basement and I love it. The color is great and to mantain the floor is easy. I was worried about the cool coming thru the concrete into the tile but this doesn't happen. The tile stays warm to your feet. I had carpet before and it feel about the same. I like it so much that I'm going to have the kicthen floor replaced next. July 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by momof4 This product is not what they claim We have had this floor for just a couple of months and I am not pleased with it at all. We were told it is the most durable on the market so we went with it for our kitchen. We have cuts and holes all over it and we have not even had it that long. I feel like we are extremely careful with the floor even though it is supposed to be durable. I am very dissatisfied with this floor. March 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Shaver Like flooring, disappointed by matching tile in small area The tile is excellent. Looks good. However there was a duplicate tile in a 72 sq ft area that shows. Installer did a great job. March 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by franknsense So easy to keep clean! I expected a high quality product, but what I didn't expect was how easy it is to take care of. It is a small feature, but nevertheless important to me and I appreciate it! August 28, 2013
