Just installed so I can not comment on things like durability and maintenance. I looked at various types of tile from many manufacturers and think that this particular tile is unique. Unlike most tiles which have little variation in color tone or pattern, Athenian Travertine really brings an area to life.

I have honey onyx in my entryway and kitchen. Large tiles laid out in diamond pattern with grout. I love it!

This was a relatively easy Do-It-Yourself install. The hardest part was the grout, but that wasn't really hard, just time consuming. It would go much better with two installers. You have to grout about 10 square feet, then go back and scrub and clean the grout lines. It was very cumbersome to grout a small area, then switch focus to cleaning grout over and over. All in all I am pleased with the product and the whole install took me a little over 3 days, however this was not non-stop. The tile was very east to cut and work with and is high quality. I am looking forward to many years of use from this floor.

We had this product professionally installed, using grouting with 12x12 and 12x24 tiles in the random pattern. The random pattern avoids the "checkerboard" look of single-size tiles and makes the area look more gracious. Also, we did a large area and did not want to see obvious repeats of the same tile patterns; this turned out to not be a problem with the random pattern installation.
The tiles have more dramatically varied coloration than I expected, but the finished effect is beautiful. The grouting really sets off the design; it would not look as good without the grout.
Two safety features were important to us: The resilient surface is less likely to shatter objects like glasses that may be dropped on it. Also, the surface is textured and is easier for our aging dogs (and us) to walk on without skidding.
Bonus feature for us Northerners - vinyl tile is much warmer underfoot than ceramic or stone in the winter and does not wick in the icy cold.
There is some mild off-gassing (probably from the adhesive) following installation, not bad, but very sensitive people might want to keep the windows open for a day or two. Overall, though, this product is terrific!

Rated 5 out of 5 by kacey The Alterna honey onyx floor is beautiful.
It looks like real tile and the color is rich looking. The floor was installed diagonally with grout and it makes the room look even larger. It seems like it will be easy to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by erm66 love the difference in color according to the light that hits the surface
Love the texture look and color variation. I had grout put between the tiles and it totally gave it a different look which I am well satisfied with. The color variation of the honey onxy gave lots of room for use of different hues when selecting paint for the walls and style of cabinets
