Hi, I am Tony. I am here to talk to you about installing Alterna by Armstrong. Alterna is a very easy install compared to ceramic tile. You don’t need a wet saw or a special backer board. All you need is trowel, float, utility knife, some spacers, a bucket, sponge and a roller. Spread your adhesive, let it dry to touch so it doesn't transfer to your finger, you are ready to install your tile. Alterna can be grouted or installed without Grout, by tight fitting the tiles next to each other. For a grouted install, lay your first tile, install a spacer, then lay your next tile. Alterna can be walked on immediately so you can install a whole room at one time. Our grout is an acrylic grout, which resist stains and there is no special sealers needed. It will dry completely in 24 hours. Unlike ceramic, which can take up the 3 days, you can install Alterna in 1 day so you don’t have to wait to walk on your new floor.
