Traditional Elegance With Contemporary Flair:
Introducing Moderno™ from Armstrong™ Cabinets

The clean, contemporary look originally created by European designers has been captured in Moderno, a new collection in Maple from Armstrong Cabinet Products.

Moderno cabinets offer unassuming, effortless beauty, from contemporary to modern. “The smooth, close-grained wood of Maple has long been considered an elegant choice for cabinetry and other fine furniture. Homeowners recognize its innate beauty, strength and resistance to wear,” says Rob Glenn, director of marketing, Armstrong Cabinets. “Maple wood finishes with exceptional consistency, resulting in a sleek, uniform look.”

Moderno’s full overlay, flat panel grained doors with square edges on all sides and fully concealed hinges also accentuate the wood’s simple and functional beauty. The cabinet’s styling make these simple doors elegant.

Moderno features Genuine ALLWOOD™ Cabinetry, Armstrong’s top-tier construction with quality characteristics that are usually found only in custom built cabinetry. Its features include:

  • Incredible durability and strength from all-plywood box construction.
  • Hardwood plywood sides and bottom panels provide resistance to swelling from water exposure.
  • Interior protected by clear coat sealer finish for easy maintenance and cleaning.
  • Solid wood, four-sided drawer box with Cushion Tec® side mounted drawer guides.
  • ‘Six-way adjustable concealed hinge’ is available as a standard offering on ALL Armstrong™ cabinets styles. This allows for precise adjustment in order to create perfect alignment.
  • Full-access dovetail or full-extension with soft close dovetail drawers with undermount hidden drawer guides available as upgrade.

Combining form and function as well as beauty and style, Moderno™ is available in a variety of inviting tones popular in today’s homes, including Toffee, Natural, Mocha and Café. Consumers also can select from a wide variety of hardware, and choose convenient accessories with additional storage space or time saving features. For consumers looking to make a statement or to create visual drama, wall cabinets with staggered heights and different depths provide more options for hard-to-fit spaces. Specialty cabinets and decorative trim also are available in the Moderno line which adds a finishing touch to any kitchen.

The natural beauty and distinctive appearance of real wood Armstrong cabinetry is derived from the inherent qualities/characteristics of wood itself. Trees of the same species, even growing side by side, are affected differently by the climate and elements required for growth. Minerals (nutrients) are absorbed in different ways and at different rates, even within the same tree. These factors combine to create the distinctive beauty of characteristics such as grain pattern and color variation.

“These variations can be present from cabinet to cabinet and within the same door/drawer front and are not considered defects,” explains Glenn. “Clear or natural wood finishes, used on Armstrong cabinetry, permit the natural beauty of grain and color tone variations to show through.”

From light to dark tones and from medium to glazed, Armstrong’s hand-applied finishes add not only color, but definition and custom tones to enhance the features of whichever door style the consumer chooses. Armstrong uses its exclusive ‘17-Step Finish Process’ on all its Genuine Allwood™ Cabinetry, beginning with the machine and hand-sanding of the door’s surface and ending by slowly baking the wood’s pre-cured topcoat.
