New Shaker Cabinets From Armstrong Shake-Up Kitchen Décor
Inspired by the simplicity of Shaker design, two new door styles from Armstrong Cabinet Products – Arborcrest™ and Town & Country™ – add flair and versatility to its kitchen cabinet portfolio. “The trend today is personalization and customization. Consumers want their kitchens to be an extension of their personalities. Rising incomes and rising knowledge have created a savvy consumer with higher expectations and need of more choices,” says Rob Glenn, Director of Marketing, Armstrong Cabinets. From rustic to casual to contemporary, new Arborcrest is a versatile addition influenced by Shaker heritage. Its full overlay door style features solid cherry panels with true Shaker width stiles and rails and five piece drawer fronts. It is available in all cherry finishes. Armstrong cherry cabinets are held to a higher specification than most—Armstrong does not allow sapwood in the face of the door frame and center panel so it won’t impact the continuity and uniformity of the door’s appearance. This variation can become even more pronounced in other cherry cabinets over time when exposed to light because the sap will not darken but the cherry heartwood will. Town & Country, a new maple Shaker beaded door style is well suited to town or country. This classic, casual look is impressive with solid maple panels and true Shaker width frames. The beaded door fronts are reminiscent of handcrafted woodworking, yet the style is equally at home in a contemporary or traditional setting. For a more innovative kitchen layout, consider variations on the Town & Country design through creative kitchen storage and seating solutions. For example, a Kitchen Island in dramatic Espresso with banquette provides a new twist to an Entertaining Island. New glazing options also can highlight the cabinets’ classic line and elegant wood graining, while adding contrast between different areas of cabinetry. The new subtle Caramel Glaze Finish creates a refined element of character to the Toffee and Natural finishes in maple. The classic lines of any door style are further enhanced by the elegant Pewter Glaze. Offered only on Armstrong’s Pearl finish, this glaze highlights the cool tones in the finish for a sleek, sophisticated look with a slight metallic edge. The pewter glazing brings a fresh new look for the typically warm Pearl finish. In addition, a dramatic new Espresso stain is now available on all maple and cherry styles. “The Espresso color is elegant and striking. It can be simultaneously urban in appeal when in a contemporary setting, or refined in a more traditional surrounding,” says Glenn.
