ARMSTRONG UNVEILS NEW DECORATIVE CEILING PRODUCTS AT SECOND NEW YORK CITY SHOWROOM EVENT

LANCASTER, Pa. (Nov. 7, 2006) — Armstrong World Industries, Inc., the category leader in residential ceiling design, previews its 2007 decorative ceiling products at the second annual Project Michelangelo showroom event. Attendees experience Armstrong’s comprehensive line of new and existing ceiling products in custom room scenes created by the Michelangelo Design Council.

The Michelangelo Design Council is part of Armstrong’s Project Michelangelo initiative, which aims to inspire the design industry, media and consumers to consider the design possibilities of residential ceilings. New products featured include:

  • Infusions—2007 marks the highly anticipated arrival of Infusions® decorative accent panels. A DIY product, Infusions panels define or add interest to a space and are available in a 6’ x 2’ size. Available for purchase in March 2007, the panels come in 16 finishes and attach to the ceiling with a simple cable system. They can also be anchored to the floor.
  • Decorative Metal — A brand-new addition, Armstrong’s Decorative Metal product line features decorative metal ceiling tiles. Offered in a number of finishes including steel, brass, copper, chrome, white and stainless steel, consumers will be able to attain the genuine pressed ceilings of yesteryear. Designs are available in 2’ x 4’ and 2’ x 8’ for direct application and 2’ x 2’ and 2’ x 4’ for drop-in grid applications. Designs are also available in 18” x 48” backsplash panels and for other wall applications. Armstrong will offer six cornices to complement the decorative metal ceiling tiles. Launching in March 2007, the decorative metal products will complement Armstrong’s existing line of TinLook™ decorative ceiling tiles.

“We’re thrilled to host this second event with the Project Michelangelo Council, and with their help, more and more consumers are realizing the potential of the ceiling,” says Ann Miller, product design manager for Armstrong’s Ceiling Division and director of the Michelangelo Design Council. “These designers are among the best of the best and serve as valuable resources for current insights and new solutions for customized ceiling designs.”
