Metallaire™ Decorative Metal Ceilings
Capture the 19th Century ambience of real tin ceilings with new Metallaire™ Decorative Metal Ceilings by Armstrong. Whether you're building a new space or renovating an existing room, one of Metallaire's 12 popular decorative metal patterns, six cornices or five backsplashes will add the crowning touch to any ceiling or wall.UPDATE: Metallaire's much desired wall applications have been extended, offering homeowners four additional finishes for backsplash applications.
Armstrong recently approved Metallaire’s brass, chrome, copper and paintable white 2’x 4’ ceiling panels for backsplash installation. These join the existing 18.5"x 48.5"stainless steel backsplash panels. Using these multi-use panels as a backsplash is an easy way to transform new or existing spaces, including kitchens, basement bars or bathrooms.
Metal Ceiling Finishes
Available in five finishes, Metallaire provides the color options you're looking for to enhance a historic feel or deliver a contemporary look to your home. Metallaire is offered in steel, chrome, brass, copper and paintable white.
Bare steel panels come unfinished and need to be treated with an oil-based paint to prevent rusting. To leave panels in natural state, use clear gloss polyurethane.

Metallaire™ Grid
Armstrong’s Metallaire™ Decorative Metal ceiling system has two installation options:
2’ X 2’ lay-in tile (suspended ceiling)
2’ X 4’ nail-up (direct apply)
If you've determined that you need to have access to your home's systems, such as electrical, plumbing and HVAC, then the 2' X 2' lay-in tile suspended ceiling option is the one for you.
To assist with your installation, Armstrong offers a suspended grid system that coordinates with the finishes offered in the Metallaire collection – steel/chrome, brass, copper and paintable white.
Don't forget to order the system when ordering your decorative metal tile. You may also be required to order a border tile to complete the look of your room.
