Ceramic

  • Tile is available in a wide range of colors and styles and can be integrated into almost any décor. Glazed tile makes a room look elegant and sophisticated, while unglazed tile reflects the earthiness of the clay from which it is made.

  • Tile allows you to express yourself by creating unique designs all your own: using borders, medallions, or patterns that extend throughout the room.

  • Very small tiles, such as mosaic tiles, tend to look better in small rooms such as half baths or prep kitchens.

  • The grout lines between tiles make an aesthetic statement that is almost as important as the tile itself. Grout comes in different colors, not just white.  Select a color that complements the tile to create a pleasing floor pattern.

  • By using different sizes and patterns of tile, you can create your own unique design. It isn't difficult to creat e a border that follows the perimeter of the room, or a medallion in the center.

  • With ceramic tile, you aren't limited to designs just on the floor.  You can create a design that extends from the floor up the walls and into the shower stall and bath area.

Professional Designers Love Ceramic!

I like ceramics in the warm weather climates. They are so easy to care for. For me, the bigger the better –large squares and rectangles always work well with my modern interiors. Good quality flooring speaks for itself.

I have ceramic tile throughout my house –in the kitchen, mudroom, wine room. It's a large, rustic looking tile that fits beautifully within the atmosphere of my 1903 carriage house. The practicality, durability and earthy physicality of a ceramic tile give it unique and unparalleled qualities. Certain ceramic tile can also give a room an antiquated, handmade feel, adding instant character and age to a new house.
