How can I obtain a product brochure?

Simply request a cushioned floor brochure by providing your name and address.

How should Armstrong cushioned flooring be installed?

Our vinyl flooring installation information explains all of the necessary steps to correctly install your cushioned vinyl floor.

Are Armstrong cushion floors suitable for use in conservatories?

Armstrong cushioned floors, which are recommended for use in conservatories, are: Rustic Woods, City Woods, Elegant Tiles, Rustic Tiles, Classic Tiles, Metal Sheens, Designer Professional and Professional. These ranges are most suitable as they are made up of a more solid structure and are able to cope with the changes in temperature.

The flooring should be loose laid or fully adhered using an epoxy adhesive (F Ball and Company are excellent suppliers). This adhesive will ensure the flooring is held firmly in place even when the temperature gets very high. All other fitting requirements are as standard.

What steps can I take to protect my Armstrong floor from physical damage?

The most common form of physical damage is indentation marking from high pressure points; e.g. stiletto heels, legs/castors from furniture or appliances. Armstrong recommends the use of "castor cups" wherever possible.

In the kitchen avoid damage from appliances by placing a sheet of hardboard between the appliance and the floor, when moving the appliance simply slide from one hardboard sheet to another.

What steps can I take to protect my Armstrong Floor from staining?

Use a doormat near external doors (see note on mats below). Wipe up all spots and marks as quickly as possible. Scuffs and stains maybe removed by diluted solution of household ammonia or white spirit.

What kind of rugs or mats can I use on my Armstrong cushioned floor?

We do not recommend the use of rubber or latex-backed mats because the chemical (antioxidant) used to keep the backing from becoming brittle can permanently stain your floor. We suggest a non-staining vinyl-backed mat or woven rug that is colourfast. Most of these products are identified "colourfast" by the manufacturer.

Is Rhinofloor suitable for wheelchair users?

Rustic Woods, City Woods, Elegant Tiles, Rustic Tiles, Classic Tiles, Metal Sheens, Designer Professional and Professional are suitable for use with wheelchairs; however because the tyres contain rubber this can ultimately result in some discolouration. To prevent this happening we recommend choosing darker colours, which will hide any discolouration, which shows. Aside from this a commercial Armstrong flooring would be suitable.

Can the flooring be coved up the wall like a commercial installation - in a wet-room for example?

This is not recommended - it is not designed for wet rooms, although it is suitable for rooms, which are, wet i.e. kitchens and bathrooms.

Does Armstrong offer accessories such as Cold Weld fluid, if not where can this be purchased?

No. There are many companies who specialise in these products. Your retailer would be able to help with this.

Can our flooring be used with underfloor heating? Does the underfloor heating need to be insulated before fitting Rhinofloor?

Yes, our flooring can be used with under floor heating as long as the flooring does not exceed a temperature of 28 degrees C. It must also be installed following the standard fitting instructions, i.e. it should be laid onto a smooth, dry surface free from grit, paint etc.
